Milan and Paris unveil online fashion weeks for July 2020

Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks have announced that they will go ahead in a digital format this year, as a substitute to the events that were originally planned to take place.

Milan Digital Fashion Week will take place from 14 to 17 July and will present the Spring/Summer 2021 men's collections and Spring/Summer 2021 men's and women's pre-collections. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has said that the digital platform will feature photographic and video content, interviews and backstage creative moments and alternative and unique viewpoints, which will all be organised in a calendar with slots for each brand. The calendar will also feature webinars on themes of special interest, live streaming of keynotes by important figures in the fashion system and moments of entertainment/live performances.

Parallel to the presentation of collections at Milan Digital Fashion Week, there will be a section of the platform specially dedicated to showrooms.

The Haute Couture and Fashion Federation has also announced an online platform for Paris Fashion Week Men's, which will take place from 9 to 13 of July. The event will be structured around a dedicated platform and will see each fashion house present in the form of a creative and free film or video. Other content will appear in an editorial section of the platform.

Similar to Milan, Paris will also present a virtual showroom, dedicated to emerging brands.

Both announcements come as a result of the continued Coronavirus pandemic as the fashion industry adapts to digital events.
