Due to recent client wins, The Friday Agency is looking for a PR Assistant to join our growing team and work across our beauty and wellness clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the beauty and wellness industries and eager to gain hands-on experience in public relations.
In this role, you will play a vital part supporting the wider team in, securing press coverage, reporting and monitoring of all client activity, assisting media and influencer outreach, coordinating product mailers, supporting events, and maintaining strong media relationships. You will work closely with the team to ensure the seamless execution of client strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Media Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track & monitor print, digital, and social media coverage to ensure speedy coverage updates to clients.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and key conversations to provide insights to the team and clients.
- Compile weekly/monthly PR reports where relevant showcasing media placements and influencer activity.
Press & Influencer Outreach:
- Research and identify media, influencer and KOL contacts for targeted outreach.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and content creators.
- Assist in drafting and distributing press releases, media alerts, and product pitches.
Product Mailers & Sample Coordination:
- Manage product distribution to press, influencers to secure coverage.
- Track shipments and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Maintain stock levels of press materials, including boxes & client collateral, tissue, and packaging.
Event Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of press events / activations.
- Support on-site coordination to ensure smooth event experiences.
Social Media & Content Support:
- Research beauty trends, influencer collaborations, and digital-first PR opportunities across Youtube & TikTok
Administrative & Team Support:
- Maintain and update the media and influencer database with key industry contacts.
- Handle scheduling, meeting coordination, and general team admin tasks.
- Support the wider team in brainstorming creative PR ideas and developing campaign plans.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about beauty, skincare, and wellness, with a keen interest in PR and brand communications.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, capable of crafting compelling press materials.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Digitally savvy, with familiarity in beauty influencers, social media trends, and content platforms.
- Proactive and creative, bringing fresh ideas and a problem-solving mindset to the team.
- Previous experience in PR, communications, or beauty industry internships is preferred but not required.
