WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Body Shop is looking for a bright PR & social media professional with a minimum of two years beauty experience to immediately join its UK Brand Communications & Activism team. This newly created role will assist creating and implementing tactical activations across PR, social media and events to build visibility, generate endorsement and deepen the emotional connection between its audiences and the brand’s products, services and campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media

  • Day to day running and execution of social media plans across multiple accounts to cultivate and drive high levels of customer and influencer engagement. Working closely with the International Digital Team to ensure the Social Media Strategy including brand look/ feel and tone of voice is delivered, as well as Customer Relations agency supporting community management.
  • Create social content calendars; includes copyrighting, uploading images and content from a suite of International assets, scheduling posts, using tools such as Sprinklr & owned platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter
  • Monitoring, listening and responding to user-generated comments and posts across The Body Shop social media sites in a timely manner in order to foster a positive community and add value to the users’ experience.

PR

  • Press office enquiries: Respond to all press office emails and phone calls from media and influencers regarding brand information or call ins for products/ images
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor on/ off line media and influencer social channels daily, and share anything of interest to wider team
  • Build and maintain media, VIP and influencer network: Nurture existing media/ influencer relationships and source new that are a fit for the brand, as well as help manage external supporting agencies
  • Proactive product PR: Oversee mail-outs for NPD/ seasonal and icons working with junior members of staff and external agencies
  • Events: Support the organising and execution of informative and insta-worthy PR events, as well as exciting, market-leading consumer experiences that encourage trial and (re)consideration of the Brand


IDEAL CANDIDATE

Experience

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience in a similar large complex multi-site retailer/FMCG (beauty/toiletries industry strongly preferred) or agency setting
  • Experience in overseeing social media accounts with thorough operational knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • PR and event experience, beauty contacts desirable
  • Previous success in converting plans into real results
  • Experience of collating and analysing information to determine success and insights

  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal
  • Creative, proactive, and with the ability to employ initiative
  • Experience of collating and analysing information to determine success and insights 
  • Highly organised, with good attention to detail
  • Ability to network and foster relationships at all levels, as well as work collaboratively across functions •
  • Self-motivated, deadline focused and enjoys a fast paced, commercial environment
  • Budget conscious
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Experience of working with analytical tools e.g. Kantar, My Market Insights, Google Analytics, Social Bakers, Sprinklr


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & HOW TO APPLY

Reports to: PR & Advocacy Manager
Other key working relationships: Head of Brand Communications & Activism and Brand Experience & Media Manager
Start: Immediately (preferably by June)

Location: London. The current global HQ is located in East Croydon (Zone 5)* until end August/ September when it will relocate to London Bridge.

*The office is a one minute walk from East Croydon station and is easily accessible by direct trains from Victoria (16 mins), London Bridge (13 mins) and Clapham Junction (9 mins).
