We’ve been enjoying several years of rapid growth and we don’t plan to stop growing any time soon! As a result, our fantastic team of ‘Squares’ is growing rapidly too. As part of this, we want to complement our Marketing & PR team with a new PR Executive to work across our hair and beauty brands.

The right candidate will have already been working in the field of hair, beauty or fashion for at least 18 months and will have great contacts amongst beauty press and influencers. Reaching-out to press and influencers, building relationships and creating advocates for our brand will all be integral to this role. It is based in Leeds but will require travel to London and possibly other parts of the UK for events, meetings and launches. Planning and hosting events, conducting press appointments, writing press releases and selling-in stories to generate meaningful press coverage for our portfolio of brands will form a key part of your daily workload.  We’re looking for somebody with great contacts in the consumer press and with experience of influencer PR to help build our presence and following on key social media platforms.  

The role requires excellent communication skills to help us expand our network of contacts and would suit somebody who has worked in a PR agency managing multiple brands or possibly somebody who has worked in a London agency or beauty house and is looking to relocate to the north. 

This role will involve working on the following brands: CND™, Shellac, KEVIN.MURPHY, LASHUS, SACHAJUAN, Nimue Skin Technology, MoroccanTan, Alter Ego, Light Elegance & wax:one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate positive media coverage in broadcast, print, blogs and social media. 
• Organise and coordinate day-to-day PR activities including, but not exclusive to, writing press releases, planning events and handling press and influencer call ins and coordinating product mailouts.
• Media Monitoring: monitor the media including newspapers, magazines, newswires, trade publications, social media and blogs for opportunities for the Company’s brands.
• Creative writing: Preparing press releases, event materials and a variety of literature and supporting the marketing teams with copywriting.
• Pitching stories and ‘selling-in’ more in-depth features to key publications or influencers.
• Media Relations: Build on the Company’s existing database of media contacts and influencers to create a strong network of ambassadors for all brands.
• Event Management: Including product launches, press trips, press appointments/treatment days and occasionally supporting on customer events and trade shows.
• Reporting: Collate and analyse the results of PR campaigns and prepare reports. 
• Crisis Management: Support PR Manager in managing enquiries and communications in the event of a crisis situation.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills: you must be comfortable as a public speaker and have the ability to communicate at all levels, including senior management
• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to tell a story 
• Strong creative skills and a close eye for detail
• Proven experience of building relationships with press and influencers 
• Versatility: the ability to jump from one task (or brand) to the next, even if they are very different, with enthusiasm
• Someone who is ready to learn and grow under the mentorship of an experienced line manager
• A cool head under pressure – deals in solutions, not problems
• Minimum 18 months experience in a PR role
• Ideally, relevant experience within the hair and beauty sector
