Role Overview:

Account manager is responsible for partnering with clients to strategically advance their public relations image and exposure.

SE:COMMS is seeking a bright and enthusiastic Public Relations Account Manager to joins its team in London, working across a number of exciting accounts including Paris Texas, DVF, Cybex and more. The Account Manager will play an essential role in supporting the development and execution of communication campaigns for clients, generating maximum brand exposure through implementing communication strategies, including traditional and new media, events, brand partnerships and product placement.

The right candidate must have a genuine passion for communications, fashion and lifestyle brands, be a self-starter, but also a team player with the ability to lead and motivate others. An individual in this role must have substantial industry knowledge, strong relationships within fashion and lifestyle media (consumer, trade and digital). The candidate must be organized, driven and creative. Strong written communication skills and an established understanding of public relations are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the smooth running of daily functions of each account, providing support to the SE:COMMS team as requested and required
  • Day-to-day client contact and managing client updates
  • Secure media coverage, features and news items
  • Secure product placement on influencers and celebrities through loaning and gifting
  • Assist in the creation of PR materials such as press releases
  • Oversee and complete coverage reports accurately and effectively with the assistance of the Account Assistant
  • Lead and manage client events, and external vendors and compile event reports with the help of the Account Assistant
  • Brainstorm creative ideas and generate publicity strategies to enhance PR campaigns, going beyond the role of the press office
  • Maintain regular day-to-day contact and close relationship with key press and influencers through one-to-one appointments
  • Lead on gifting initiatives and reach out to relevant influencers
  • Be a brand champion for clients and build strong relationships with them
  • Analyze coverage across online, offline, blogs and social media
  • Conduct research on both brands, products, and industry to support the development of client plans and new business proposals
  • Manage Press Officer and Intern
  • Ensure production of quality work, on brief, on time, and on budget
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the media developments and spot opportunities for SE:COMMS and clients
  • Deliver coverage online, offline, in blogs, and leverage added value from all PR activity
  • Monitor SE:COMMS client placement/exposure, ensuring all communication and activity are on-brand
  • Work with the team to compile a seasonal calendar of PR activity
  • Develop new prospective client proposals with support from the Founder and Director

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Well-versed in the fashion industry and the PR world
  • Black book of industry contacts in the womenswear fashion industry
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant proven experience
  • Familiarity with press reports and press clippings
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail, methodical, and efficient, with a good dose of common sense and initiative
  • Knowledge of print, digital media, and social media platforms
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Proactive, able to lead and take initiative on projects, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Great attitude and ability to take direction and work with an action-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle pressure with equanimity and to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and accountability-focused organization
  • Ability to identify communication opportunities across multiple media platforms
  • Discreet and professional
  • Confidence to train and direct the work of junior team members
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Reporting to: Founder & Director

Location: Notting Hill, London in the office 4 days a week
