We are looking for a Press Officer to join the PR team in our London office. At schuh we are not afraid to try something new so we are looking for someone who is bursting full of ideas to push us forward and set us apart as a PR team. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, passionate and results driven with excellent press contacts and around 2 years experience in an in-house or agency role.

Responsibilities:

• Day to day running of a busy press office
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with media contacts in all relevant areas by communicating possible features, proactively selling in ideas & promotions as well as regular meetings
• Writing press material including press releases, invites, promotional text
• Wholly responsible for the recruitment, training and day to day management of the intern programme
• Producing the weekly bench-marking report for the business
• Liaising with brands and factories to order press samples
• Maintaining the in-house press sample management system and overseeing sample turnover
• Managing all press office databases
• Organising events with the larger PR team
• Supporting the senior team to execute strategies, prepare for meetings and plan launches
• Monitoring media daily to identify any possible opportunities for schuh
• Shared responsibility for the schuh PR social media channels
• Sourcing appropriate opportunities  for  celeb, influencer and VIP gifting and in turn managing a relationship with them or their management
• Working with key departments within schuh HQ to fulfil their various press requirements
• Promotion of the PR department internally
• Develop ideas for Christmas gift guides
