We are looking for a second PR & Talent Assistant to join the PR team.
At schuh, we are not afraid to try something new, so we are looking for someone who is bursting full of ideas to push us forward and set us apart as a PR team.
In this role, you will work on the PR team, assisting in the day-to-day running of a busy PR office, where you will gain experience across PR, talent campaigns, events and brand-building.
The ideal candidate will have 12 months of experience working in a PR or talent team, with an understanding of media and talent relations and will be energetic, passionate and results-driven.
This role is currently a hybrid WFH/office role with a minimum of 2 days in the London office. The role will include work activity outside of office hours where required.
The Role
Press Office Management
- Point of contact for incoming enquiries; overseeing the PR inbox and fulfilling daily image and product requests with the support of the PR Intern
- Monitor media, social trends and cultural stories to identify possible opportunities for schuh
- Maintain the in-house press sample management system and oversee sample movement, with the support of the PR Intern
- Maintain, and grow, media and talent databases
Communications
- Act as a brand ambassador and guardian for schuh and its Purpose Pillars
- Source, develop and maintain genuine relationships with media, influencers, talent and relevant creatives
- Support the PR Manager in the creation of press materials, including press releases and creative assets
- Regularly report to the business; including wrap up reports, insight reports and monthly results
- Work cross-functionally with key departments, including Marketing, Brand Partnerships and Buying, to fulfil their various PR and talent requirements
- Promote the PR department internally
Talent & Influencer
- Assist the Brand Marketing and Activations teams in the delivery of paid influencer and talent campaigns
- Support the PR Manager with negotiating fees and talent agreements
- Manage schuh’s always-on organic seeding outreach, with the support of the PR Intern Events
- Help to organise press, influencer, and brand events with the wider PR team
- Attend in-store and brand events, capturing social content when required
- Support the senior team to execute internal events when required
The Candidate
- A confident individual who is keen to network and expand their contacts across the industry
- Existing relationships with media, influencers and talent
- A genuine interest in Gen Z cultural trends, with a focus on fashion, music, sports industries, as well as sustainability, mental wellness, diversity and inclusion
- This role involves regular written communication via email, drafting written PR assets and regular verbal comms in meetings - both virtually and in person. Therefore strong writing and communication skills are desirable
- This is a busy role which will involve working on multiple projects at the same time. Therefore, organisational and time-management skills are essential
- A critical and creative eye with an attention to detail
- A self-motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Experience using Microsoft programmes and Cision Media Monitoring is desirable
