L’OCCITANE - PR & Communications Officer

This role will help coordinate the day-to-day running of the PR office by assisting with executing strategies, product launches, events, and digital outreach activities for L’OCCITANE. Working alongside and reporting to the Acting PR & Communications Manager, the candidate is required to drive brand awareness and equity in the UK.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes (intern management)

Major Responsibilities

  • Implement and contribute to the execution of the UK PR strategy for L’OCCITANE
  • Provide daily support to the Acting PR & Communications Manager in executing the PR strategy and all media outreach initiatives; organising events and press trips, answering press queries, proactively pitching product features, attending press/influencer/agent appointments, maximising placement opportunities and building brand awareness
  • Secure regular coverage across print and online media as well as all digital and social platforms via paid campaigns and organic pitches, ensuring a substantial year-on-year increase
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key press & influencer contacts across all media channels
  • Writing and editing press releases, newsletters, notecards, and copywriting, also overseeing and approving those written by the PR intern
  • Maintain and manage the operational smooth running of the press office and oversee the day-to-day work of the PR intern
  • Management of process Director, creating POs and new suppliers for the PR team
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Digital team to ensure a 360 approach to all PR & Influencer activities
  • Be the team expert in Digital, keeping well informed of social opportunities, channels, influencers, innovations, and competitors, particularly across TikTok
  • Ownership of strategy and execution of all brand podcast sponsorship activity
  • Work with the Acting PR & Communications Manager to help prepare and share meaningful evaluation reports
  • Provide integral support to the Communications department, including owning and overseeing key internal tracking systems, reporting, and budget management on delegated projects

Required Knowledge & Competencies

  • Highly organised, responsible, and mature
  • Results-driven with an excellent network of contacts within the industry.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in Beauty PR (in-house or agency), with excellent interpersonal skills, strong creativity an eye for detail and proven track record of positive results
  • Competent in PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Word, Outlook
  • Enthusiastic and helpful team player.
  • The ability to self-start, be proactive, and confidently work autonomously is important
  • Passion for natural beauty
