We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Communications Manager to join the La Mer Communications team reporting to the Communications Manager.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Strategy:

• Work with the Comms Manager to develop and implement PR strategy for new product launches and events in line with the brands aims and objectives and monitor results
• Investigate and identify opportunities beyond print to promote the brand
• Update PR calendar with details of launches, mailings and campaigns, amending where needed
• Assist with organisation and management of all press launches, delegating effectively to Communication assistant, and reporting into Communications Manager

Social:

• Support Communications Manager in implementation of influencer outreach programme
• Maintain current relationships with influencers and build new ones, exploring areas relevant to La Mer such as lifestyle, fashion and culture
• Develop targeted and on-brand digital outreach programme to support PR calendar
• Work closely with the Digital Manager to align on activity, ensuring a 360 approach is taken
• Monitor success using Synthesio and My Market Insight , sharing insights with the team

Press Office

• Plan effective usage and control of PR expenditure against agreed budget, reporting to Communications Manager. Raise POs where needed and input into budget
• Forecast forthcoming launch samples via Global PR team and Marketing (where instructed) and ensure Communications Assistant notifies team when delivered to press office
• Build strong relationships with other departments within the brand and corporation. Attend regular updates with Marketing and Online teams to align on initiatives

Irish and Regional Press

• Create and Implement regional press and influencer strategy for Ireland and key UK cities
• Plan regular visits to Ireland and Scotland and support the Communications Assistant with visits to other key cities
• Build relationships with SEES, key local retailer contacts and regional opinion formers
• Supported by the Communications assistant, secure coverage in select regional titles and social media.

Makeup artists

• Ensure that key makeup artists (and their agents) are kept up-to-date with product info and launches
• Regularly meet with make-up artists, facialists and relevant agents to build relationships and share brand/product news
• Build influencer outreach via make-up artists, ensuring Communications Assistant records VIP gifting and feedback

Men’s

• Lead men’s press outreach and event planning
• Regularly liaise with men’s press and promote products in line with male grooming trends

Global Communications

• Liaise with Global PR team on UK/Ireland media requests
• Send monthly coverage updates and launch results to Global PR team in timely manner
• Participate in update conference calls with Global PR team, alongside the Communications Manager and take notes of key action points

Team

• To manage the Communications Assistant on a daily basis, monitoring work load, and supporting their development both personally and in line with business objectives

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be passionate about social media, demonstrated via excellent relationships with social influencers and experience of socially led campaigns. Creative thinking is key; part of your responsibilities will be identifying opportunities in addition to new product launches to promote the brand and grow online conversation.

Working closely with the Communications Manager, you will support on the execution of strategy, as well as the day to day running of the press office including management of global assets and press release editing.

Analytical skills and an understanding of reporting is essential, ensuring all PR activities are followed up with detailed reports reflecting KPI measurements.

You will be a great team player and have the ability to build strong relationships with other departments within the brand to align on launch plans and maximise PR initiatives.
