Position Summary 

This role is responsible for supporting the Global Communications Corporate Affairs Director in the development and management of the Global crisis communications, external corporate affairs, and internal employee engagement strategy. This role works directly with ELC corporate teams and with regional communications and brand teams across functions to protect the brand image and reputation and ensure compliance with global ELC guidance. The role also plays a significant role in driving activities to create an environment where employees can thrive and feel valued at work. 

Communications and Corporate Affairs 

  • Support Regions and markets with local vetting responsibilities to assess and mitigate risk.
  • Support on the execution of brand partnership contracts working closely with ELC legal counsel. 
  • In line with the JML ID&E strategy, act as cultural advisor for all marketing programmes globally and regionally across comms and content & events 
  • Conduct risk-assessments across all global brand assets (copy, imagery, concepts, partners) prior to launch and anticipate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Development team on sustainability product/ingredient sourcing claims and issues.
  • Support the director with the brands Social Impact strategy and programme management, eg day to day liaison, strategy implementation, quarterly reporting/ invoicing with charity partner.

Crisis Management 

  • Support the director with management of all issue and crisis management that arise in line with ELC guidance.
  • Draft reactive consumer and press facing reactive statements.
  • Monitor for current events and ensure appropriate identification of threats and opportunities; assist with brand responses if needed

Employee Engagement 

  • Co-create employee engagement strategy 
  • Co-create employee engagement calendar 
  • Support with the internal employee engagement programme jointly with HR, measuring success of initiatives via focus groups and feedback surveys.  

Skills and qualifications 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills 
  • Diverse mindset with cultural experience 
  • Experience in global corporate crisis management 
  • Be a multi- faceted communications professional that possess a strategic and creative mind  
  • A strong team player with a sharp eye for detail and a natural problem solver
  • Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads as required
  • Confident relationship builder at all levels with a proactive hands-on drive and determination
  • Be calm under pressure and act with integrity, discretion, respect, and kindness
