Role Purpose:
The Fashion Features writer will research and write articles for Hello! Fashion online. They will focus primarily on Fashion stories with a strong celebrity or SEO hook. They will help decide the daily agenda informed by what drives traffic to the website, as well as coming up with original ideas and longer features. They will also report Fashion stats daily, weekly and monthly and ensure that targets are being met and affiliate links are being included in all stories. We currently operate hybrid working and this team is based at our lively WeWork office near Blackfriars on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The schedule for this role is: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm Tuesday to Saturday 9am – 5pm
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research and write articles
- Write between 8-10 articles a day
- Choose and cut their own pictures to accompany articles
- Write regular features and galleries
- Attend launches, red carpet premiere, photo calls when required
- Carry out interviews
- Build relationships with PRs
- Monitor traffic with a view to growing the vertical
- Use affiliate links where possible
- Represent Hello! Fashion at brand events
- Take part in social media content when required
- Contribute to magazine features where required
Person Specification
- 3+ years journalism experience
- Online magazine experience preferred
- SEO knowledge
- Photoshop knowledge
- Social media knowledge
- CMS knowledge
- Genuine passion and knowledge for Fashion and Beauty
- Extensive Fashion and Beauty contacts
- Ability to write on tight deadlines
- Eligible to work in the UK
