RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Personal Attributes:

Media Results:

  • Continuously develop your media and influencer contacts across relevant sectors and cement relationships with your 20 go-to contacts
  • Book and attend media appointments with both junior and senior members of your team and the rest of the agency on a weekly basis; aim for five per week
  • Successfully pitch in to journalists securing consistent levels of coverage in daily/weekly/monthly titles, new desks and online
  • Pitch and achieve appropriate feature coverage for a range of clients
  • Ensure that your team are consistently meeting, or exceeding, coverage KPIs
  • Read a range of magazines and newspapers and share appropriate news stories with the relevant person, team or with the wider agency
  • Assist your JAE/AE when necessary to ensure all trackers and databases are updated in a timely manner, including your team media database, press lists and press tracker
  • Assist your JAE/AE to create appropriate creative mailers and ensure that these are followed up on

Client Services:

  • Contribute to your clients annual PR plans, ensuring that they are written in an eloquent and thoughtful way, that they reflect their business goals, are accurate and use relevant terminology
  • Plan, coordinate and execute assigned elements of your clients PR plan (eg. launches, press trip) to a high standard, adhering to deadlines and budgets. Manage your team and resources accordingly
  • Liaise with your clients on a daily basis to develop a strong relationship so that you are able to offer advice/counsel and realistically manage your clients expectations of results within budget and time constraints
  • Ahead of client meetings ensure that your team are prepared (progress reports and any updates) and that all actions are recorded and circulated to the team
  • Contribute media insight and present elements of the progress report in client meetings
  • Take a lead role in managing all events, including all planning/preparation, execution and follow up
  • Keep your team updated on the progress of your work in a timely manner, flagging any concerns in ample time to make sure that all deadlines are hit
  • Edit and proof read all press releases for your junior team
  • Assist your JAE/AE when needed to ensure coverage report deadlines are met

Financial Results:

  • Develop a strong understanding and awareness of client budgets (fees and expenses)
  • Create an accurate budget for specific activity, taking into consideration staff hours, costs, expenses, fee, timescales and results
  • Select accurate suppliers, review terms and make contractual recommendations
  • Ensure all relevant costs have a PO associated to it in Adserve prior to invoices being issued

Team and Self Management:

  • Contribute relevant, varied and valuable ideas in creative brainstorms and team meetings – offer your insight and ideas to the wider team/agency
  • Manage your time effectively so that all tasks are completed to a high standard and all deadlines are met
  • Keep your managers regularly updated on your workload, priorities and deadlines
  • Set out daily/weekly ‘to-do’ lists and ensure that we your tasks are prioritised correctly
  • Effectively manage any junior members of the team to ensure their time is used in the most productive way to benefit the team

Additional:

  • Record your hours accurately
  • Ensure that all team folders on the servers are kept updated – archive and delete when necessary – as well as any ad hoc team admin
  • Ensure you have good use of IT and software – MS Office, Fashion Monitor, Gorkana, Response Source, Key Note, etc
  • Attend all relevant training sessions
