RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Personal Attributes:

  • A diligent and detailed approach to all tasks set

  • Pro-actively develop your skill set, your understanding of PR and of your clients
  • Demonstrate creativity within your team and to your clients
  • A keen interest in current affairs and able to take an educated point of view on news stories relevant to your clients
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude

Media Results:

  • Continuously build/grow/develop your media and influencer contacts, aim to have a strong database of 20 go-to contacts
  • Attend 3-5 media and influencer appointments weekly with senior members of your team and the rest of the agency
  • Confidently call and pitch in to journalists
  • Develop an appropriate tone and style of email correspondence to follow up your pitch calls
  • Read a range of magazines, newspapers and websites on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to increase your knowledge of key issues, find articles of interest and discussion points for your clients
  • Share appropriate news stories with the relevant person, team or with the wider agency
  • Generate substantial product placement for your clients and ensure you are contributing to your team hitting, and exceeding KPIs
  • Ensure all trackers and databases are updated in a timely manner, including your team media database, press lists and press tracker

Client Services:

  • Scan in client coverage and create coverage reports on a daily/weekly basis and ensure they are sent to the client ahead of each deadline
  • Understand your clients’ individual PR objectives, their brand, their market, competitors and individual products
  • Accurately draft eloquent and factual press releases that fulfil the brief for each client
  • Ahead of client meetings ensure that progress reports and any additional specific information is prepared and distributed to the relevant team members
  • Attend client meetings and conference calls where appropriate, ensure that any actions from the meetings are recorded and circulated to the team after the meeting
  • Update your team/client on the progress of your work in a timely manner, flagging any concerns in ample time to make sure that all deadlines are hit

Team and Self Management:

  • Keep your managers, and wider team if necessary, regularly updated on your workload and deadlines
  • Develop the ability to effectively multitask
  • Set out daily/weekly ‘to-do’ lists and ensure that we your tasks are prioritised correctly, work with your manager to do this
  • Record your hours accurately and update accordingly
  • Ensure that all team folders on the servers are kept updated – archive and delete when necessary
  • General administrative tasks – scanning, filing, keeping track of samples, disposing of confidential information
  • Ensure you have good use of IT and software – MS Office, Fashion Monitor, Gorkana, Response Source, Key Note, etc
  • Attend creative brainstorms on a regular, ad hoc basis
  • Attend all relevant training sessions
