About this role

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager for Trade and Customer Experience, the Marketing Executive for Premium Retail will maximise ghd growth in the Premium Retail channel through outstanding marketing & commercial ideas and executions. An exciting role for a self-motivated beauty/hair obsessed individual who is keen to work in a dynamic & passionate marketing Retail environment.

The Marketing Executive for Premium Retail will work in collaboration with the Key Accounts Manager and Head of Premium Retail to ensure the marketing plans for our retail partners inspire, excites, and brings the ghd brand to life across all media platforms.

Through strategic planning, implementing, and executing effective, innovative, and ambitious marketing activities throughout the year, the Marketing Executive for Premium Retail will contribute to profitable growth & the delivery of financial targets for the UK and Ireland online consumer channels.

A key part of this role will be further developing the ghd brand by re-building awareness, advocacy and passion for the brand and products for consumers through our selected Premium Retail partners, ensuring global brand positioning and equity is respected.

‘’UK and Ireland’’ is the largest and most developed markets for ghd. It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at a global level. Consequently, the Marketing Executive for Premium Retail is a key role within the marketing organisation to ensure brand advocacy and the perfect implementation is executed as a flagship market

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Implement & executes UK&I campaigns across the instore Premium Retail channel that capture the hearts and minds of retailers and consumers alike and drive purchase and usage across the Premium Retail channel.
  • Proposal of an extensive full year marketing plan for John Lewis in line with their Marketing Rebate agreement
  • Work closely with the key account managers on budget & retro figures to plan an extensive activity plan for the year. Create google document tracker of activity.
  • Propose & manage Adhoc activities for Retailers without a Marketing Rebate that inspires and creates the WOW factor
  • Plan, coordinate and execute an exciting and engaging Retail marketing programme to build awareness, interest, and purchase amongst target consumers and stylists,
  • Manage all brand and campaign materials to support activities across the Premium Retail Channel
  • Execute all planned activity to a standard of excellence & ensure execution is in line with plan and our point of difference is ‘Best in Class’
  • Work closely with PR & Social teams for relevant Retailer activities that inspire, excites, and delights the consumer
  • Increase activity with the Travel retail sector focusing on key months of the year, to increase exposure and engagement.
  • Create an exciting strategy and execute online to offline customer journey (Bookable services) working with the online team
  • Retailer Events – proposing concepts/ideas to Retailers/manage and execute events (with support of Marketing Coordinator & wider team if needed)
  • Consult with the Education team for content creation/support for Retailer activations
  • Plan & execute virtual/physical events and activities for the retailers (with support of Marketing Coordinator & wider team if needed)
  • Oversee ecommerce banners creation, resizing & send-out for all retailers. (Planning & execution managed by Marketing Co-ordinator)
  • Track, record, and feedback results of all activities, to optimise learnings and improve effectiveness of marketing investments
  • Post Campaign Analysis with Senior Marketing Manager for Trade and Customer Experience and Key Accounts Manager, taking learnings into future campaigns
  • Immerse self in the wonderful and dynamic world of the hair industry building your network, representing ghd and inspiring consumers and retailers across all ghd events/activations.
  • Deliver strong ROI of all activities and push the boundaries of marketing to deliver robust growth in Premium Retail
  • Create social and digital assets to enable Premium Retail to launch our products and always-on activity with excellence
  • Create new & relevant assets/content needed to support planned activity across the premium retail channel
  • Work collaboratively with the online /salon trade marketing executives to share ideas and costs
  • Continuously update own knowledge of market trends & activities including competitive activity and feed into the marketing strategy
  • Continuously improve systems, data accuracy, reporting and information
  • Keep up to date with product development to align marketing activity and stay ahead of competition
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager for Trade and Customer Experience on experiential events, media opportunities, brand collaborations, social media, key influencer engagement, promotions, and advertising (offline + digital)
  • Continuously improve systems, data accuracy, reporting and information
  • Manage POS Briefing process for Premium Retail & Travel (working with UK Marketing Co-ordinator
  • Manage Artwork for additional sites & new counters (Briefing of Artwork for Impact/Kessler’s/Studio Briefs)
  • Order of dummy units for new launches
  • Consult with the 100% group for airport POS installations for NPD/Core campaigns. Arrange installation with duty free, sign off airport passes etc.
  • Brief & manage any adhoc POS requests for Premium Retail channel
  • Management of UK activity plan document for all marketing activity with Premium Retail customers
  • Manage & assist in-office eventing with retailers –arrange event kit send out, create event assets e.g., Foamex boards with studio team, create risk assessments, comms back & forth with retailer on this (with support of Marketing Coordinator & wider team if needed)
  • PO raising for variety of activities
  • Ensure constant communication with wider Marketing Team to allow sharing of ideas & cocreation
  • Create a collaborative partnership with Social & PR Teams to ensure Premium Retail activities are fully supported
  • Work closely with Head of Retail & Area Managers to keep updated with store updates & trends
  • Work closely with Premium Retail Commercial Teams to maximise opportunities & keep up to date with commercial discussions
  • Attend Monthly Commercial review meetings to maintain integration with Premium Retail function
  • Provide monthly updates in S&M Meetings
  • Be the Marketing lead in Premium Retail/Travel Strategy Meetings
  • Represent and attend adhoc Retailer Meetings where needed show casing the talent at ghd KPI’s
  • Brand awareness, conversion to purchase and advocacy amongst target Premium Retail consumer
  • Ensure ghd looks ‘Best in Class’ across all Premium Retail Partners
  • ghd sales in absolute, and sales growth
  • Return on investment from marketing activities and initiatives (mix of qualitative and quantitative measures) SKILLS & KEY ATTRIBUTES
  • Proven & successful track record in driving sales through marketing
  • Ability to work under pressure within deadlines and able to prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to remain agile in the face of the ever-changing Retail and marketing landscape
  • Experience of successfully implementing and executing marketing activities
  • Ability to understand commercial priorities and respond accordingly
  • Understanding of UK retail and the UK beauty press
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Eye for detail
  • Computer literate and proficiency with MS applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Passion, energy, and aspiration in line with ghd products, brand, values & people
  • A consummate marketing professional and commercially astute
  • Strong self-awareness, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, creative, and entirely flexible; thrives on positive change

  • Flexible and adaptable to commit fully to this highly demanding role particularly in areas where there are multiple stakeholders.
