POSITION SUMMARY:   

Create and implement influencer and media strategies/initiatives to support the brand’s business goals with the objective of driving business and elevating brand awareness in UK and Ireland.  Protect and defend brand reputation in occasions when issues and crises arise.

REPORTING TO: Communications & Fashion Relations Director  

AREAS OF FOCUS: Influencer/media strategies and relations, social content creation, commerce (including focus door openings, e-comm and retailer partnership), issue and crisis management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategies & Planning

  • Develop and implement PR strategies for product/collection campaigns and events in line with brand priorities and monitor results/review key learnings in UK and ROI
  • Work with Communications and Fashion Relations Director to prioritise and identify key market needs and challenges; develop UK and ROI-specific communication strategies, where relevant
  • Work in partnership with Digital Marketing Manager to manage and own the M·A·C UK Instagram - jointly lead the social media content strategy to support brand / marketing strategy, brand equity pillars, trend, insight & granular consumer engagement (influencer activity to be Comms led)
  • Partner with key stakeholders from core functions of the brand, including Marketing, Artist Training and Development, Fashion Relations, Artist Relations and Special Events and develop 360 campaigns
  • Provide local key insights, including competition and trends, to key stakeholders of the brand
  • Manage PR budget

Media & Influencer Relations / Content Creation

  • Compile and execute influencer strategies with the goal of driving earned media value and sales
  • Explore, identify and engage with influencers in UK and Ireland
  • Create partnerships with regional media and influencers to drive coverage and create organic content for the brand
  • Identify paid for partnership with select influencers strategically in the country
  • Actively monitor beauty influencers in UK and Ireland and continuously fine-tune the way to interact with them
  • Identify and build relationships with non- beauty influencers i.e. fashion, lifestyle
  • Investigate and identify local opportunities with markets to promote and build positioning of brand—particularly regional events and designer/influencer/artistry partnerships
  • Assist with media opportunities by facilitating interviews with spokespeople from the brand, including brand executives and artists
  • Support the M·A·C AIDS Fund initiatives in UK and Ireland through press outreach on grant initiatives
  • Champion M·A·C artists, including Senior Makeup Artists and Spotlight Artists, as M·A·C influencers. Help define strategy to elevate the profile of the M·A·C artists in UK and Ireland
  • Partner with other functions, especially Digital and Social to create bespoke content for the brand’s owned social media platforms

Event Management

  • Oversee media and influencer events and activations including managing schedules, artist coordination and asset management
  • Manage & coordinate Senior Makeup Artist press activities and schedules
  • Support Artist Relations activity in UK and Ireland and help realise AR ROI through PR. Recognise opportunities and support activity where necessary with Artist Relations team.
  • Support new door openings with PR and media plans

Issue and Crisis Management

  • In case of issues and crises, work with Communications Director to define and execute communications strategies to defend and protect the brand’s reputation
  • Monitor social and media chatter and elevate to key stakeholders for the brand when needed to take action

Measurement & Reporting

  • Provide weekly updates to Communications Director for regional trend-spotting and new areas of play to leverage with brand.
  • Responsible for updating Activity Chart for UK and Ireland
  • Create best-of-press and social reports and share with the brand’s key stakeholders and the field
  • Influencer engagement analysis using proprietary tools
  • Competitive analysis on influencer engagement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Substantial communications experience
  • Proactive strategic thinking skills. Able to take initiative, anticipate next steps and offer solutions
  • Self-starter attitude and be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects with several individuals
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop

NB. Your roles and responsibilities are subject to change. You may be required to work evenings and at weekends to support certain initiatives.
