An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Communications Manager to join the Clinique & Lab Series Communications team reporting to the Communications Manager.

This diverse role is responsible for increasing awareness of Clinique and Lab Series through effective communication and building strong relationships with key leading beauty titles (digital and print), as well as with online/social media contacts and influencers. You will support with the total earned strategy and implementing it across local channels, this role participates in driving and elevating brand equity, leveraging advocacy to recruit new consumers, retain our loyal base, engaging relevant voices to endorse the brand, with a commercial/conversion mindset and an omnichannel approach.

Working closely with the Communications Manager, you will support on the execution of strategy, as well as the day to day running of the Press Office, including management of Communications Assistant. Analytical skills and an understanding of reporting is essential, ensuring all PR activities are followed up with detailed reports reflecting KPI measurements.

You will be a great team player and have the ability to build strong relationships with other departments within the brand to align on launch plans and maximise PR initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Mission

  • Support Communications Manager in leading Communications for the brand, elevating and protecting brand equity in a locally relevant, digital first approach
  • Work with the Communications Manager to develop and implement Communications Strategy for new product launches and events in line with the brands aims and objectives and monitor results
  • Work with Communications Assistant to track monthly and annual mentions on brand and hero categories, reporting monthly
  • Investigate and identify outreach and partnership opportunities outside of beauty to grow brand love and advocacy
  • Ensure I&D represented in activations, campaigns, and product support
  • Work collaboratively with other brand functions to ensure a 360 vision. Work closely with Social Media team on content leveraged by influencers/ambassadors to amplify on our channels

Influencer Strategy

  • Support the Communications Manager to create and implement the brand influencer strategy
  • Proactively create and drive strong relationships that are purposeful, locally relevant and promote brand pillars
  • Ideate and activate impactful paid influencer partnerships, with a 360 approach across all touchpoints for consumer-focused activations to drive awareness and revenue – manage all content approvals and feedback
  • Alongside Communications Manager, manage briefs, content approval, PO’s and contracting
  • Utilise reporting platforms (Tribe & Launch Metrics) to track and monitor KPI’s to determine impactful activities across social platforms. Utilise platforms to understand our position against key competitors and areas for growth
  • Alongside Communications Assistant and Social team, lead TikTok strategy for Communications Team, constantly identifying new talent to outreach
  • Support Communications Assistant with new influencer identification and outreach across all social platforms

Brand & Retailer Communications

  • Key point of contact for the Clinique and Lab Series Press Office, managing media and influencer relations and building strong relationships across the industry
  • Drive strategic editorial placement across print and online from brand story-telling to product placement that drive editorial rankings
  • Support on lead press/influencer events and product launches
  • Keep on top of industry trends and competitor insights to cascade relevant info to teams
  • Assist Communications Manager as point of contact with editorial and PR teams within retailers
  • Work with retailers on influencer collaborations for key campaigns and moments, as well as facilitating requests to global and local ambassadors

Press Office & Team Management

  • Plan effective usage and control of PR expenditure against agreed budget, reporting to Communications Manager
  • Raise POs where needed and input into budget
  • Forecast forthcoming launch samples via Global PR team and Marketing (where instructed)
  • Work alongside the legal team to produce contracts and deliverables for paid partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with other departments within the brand and corporation
  • Line Manager to Communications Assistant, managing workload and prioritising with brand vision in mind, building mailing calendars and press materials
  • Liaise with Global PR team on UK/Ireland media requests
  • Participate in monthly update conference calls with Global PR team, alongside the Communications Manager

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have a proven track record in understanding and executing a brand’s strategy via Communications with an analytical approach linking to Sales
  • Ability to build strong relationships and dynamic activations with media across all platforms
  • A strategic and creative digital-first approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign & Photoshop is desirable
