About the role: 

• We have an exciting opportunity for a talented writer to join our exceptional team. If you love writing and have a passion for beauty; this role is made for you.
• You will be able to hone your skills in a professional environment while helping us bring the world’s most exciting beauty products to life across various communication platforms. You’ll be part of our values, voice and face, ensuring that all campaigns on our site are accurate, eloquent and reliable, using clear and concise English that best reflects the Escentual brand voice, tone and style.
• Once you can effectively and efficiently undertake the role of a Junior Copywriter, you will progress onto the wider Campaign and Communications Assistants role, where you will be tasked with campaign, story, idea generation and activation across all platforms; from written, spoken and even sung words, to visuals, graphics, live and recorded video. You will also be tasked to work closely with intermediaries, such as publishers, journalists, opinion leaders and influencers to further enhance our story.
• We’re looking for someone who will work well within a team, with excellent attention to detail, a clear communicator and confident working to meet targets. The ideal candidate will be completely at ease working in a fast-paced working environment, have a positive attitude, and can confidently meet high-capacity deadlines. Contract: permanent, confirmed after passing three month probation period.
Working hours: minimum full time 40 hours, as required.
Start date: as soon as possible.
Salary range: starting £18,500.
Location: Cardiff, Wales, CF24 5PG

Who you will work with:

• You will be a part of the Communications and Campaigns team.
• Your manager will be Chelsey Edmunds, Communications and Campaigns Manager.

What you’ll do:

• Write clear and compelling campaigns across the site, paying close attention to and researching current trends, our brands’ individual style and audience, and Escentual.com’s language and tone of voice.
• Ensure that all campaigns are both commercially and editorially viable and appeal to our global customer.
• Submit campaigns in a timely manner as the first step in a sub-editing process.
• Write category and brand pages and editorial/social/email copy as and when required.
• Update and refresh campaigns periodically.
• Meet daily upload targets and be measured both on volumes, content accuracy and quality.
• Support team with ad hoc campaign-related tasks.
• Be comfortable appearing in video and images for our communications.
• Be an advocate for the campaigns we launch on site. You will make sure each launch is maximised by putting forward campaign ideas based on product-led trends and themes you gather from your research and pitch them via the Campaign Pool for approval. 

Essential skills:

• Excellent written English with strong grammar skills.
• Sound knowledge of beauty, brands and trends.
• Be self-aware and responsive to feedback.
• Ability to work under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of digital marketing environment.

Preferred skills:

• Awareness of SEO best practice.
• Degree in related discipline: Communications, English or Journalism.
• Knowledge of Google sheets.
• Social media experience.
• Passion for creating video and viral content.
• CIM or DCIM.
• Empathy for relating with our customers and readers.
