WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a proactive and assertive Assistant Communications Manager who is passionate about creativity and increasing brand awareness. Our Communications Associate Manager role requires a solid understanding of key media titles in beauty, wellness, and lifestyle titles in the UK and IRE markets.
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a PR/Communications/Marketing role at a Senior Executive/Junior Account Manager level is an asset<3 This role will be based out of our London Head Office.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Responsible for the ownership of the media database for DECIEM skincare brands, The Ordinary, and NIOD. Consistently building new and fostering key relationships with UK and IRE editors and journalists within the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle sectors.
- Proactive ownership of pitching new product launches and brand campaigns into key UK and IRE press and media.
- Manage and oversee sample send-outs for press and media including the curation of press materials for the announcement of new product launches, brand campaigns, and initiatives.
- Research and stay up to date with industry trends and news, specifically in ways other brands are connecting with consumers/readers and creating unique experiences via offline and online communications.
- Responsible for press coverage reporting and the ownership of reporting platforms (Launchmetrics, Tribe Dynamics). Oversee and input the communications reports weekly, quarterly, and on a case-by-case basis.
- Ensure all work and content is of the highest quality and reflect the brand standard
- Support with the ideation and execution of online and offline press events for The Ordinary, NIOD, and key retailers.
- Support the Senior Communications Manager with creating agendas, and post-meeting minutes, attending internal and external meetings and appointments, and where necessary, talking on behalf of the communications team.
- Work closely with the Senior Communications Manager to develop a strong press dialog communicating The Ordinary and NIOD’s brand values in new, authentic ways for 360 storytelling.
- Actively seek out and curate copy for relevant award submissions for product launches, campaigns, business leaders, etc.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Understanding of the beauty industry and consumer sentiment
- Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in Communications, PR, Marketing, or similar is an asset
- Experience supporting compelling communications campaigns
- Solid organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented and ability to focus and work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral, and ability to work with all levels of staff and management, same as a proven reporting experience and presenting results to key stakeholders
