Summary
This is a critical role within newly established in-house PR department in our organisation. It is a part of a wider transformation within operational marketing that has started in 2020 with a purpose to accelerate awareness and growth of our 3 brands globally and in selected markets.
It involves establishing strategic long-term vision, managing the team through this transformation, setting up relevant processes and procedures. At the same time, it needs to ensure that uplift in results (earned coverage within Press and Media) is significantly improved.
Purpose of the role and key job accountabilities
- Accountable for long-term communication strategy and vision for the brands that will contribute to rapid business growth
- Accountable for disruptive and creative storytelling and PR tactics across brands
- Accountable for MoM and YoY growth in earned reach within Press & Media in the UK
- Accountable for MoM and YoY growth in earned reach within Press & Media in other markets through effective and efficient day-to-day management of our PR agencies (new selection if need be)
- Accountable for PR strategy across 360 campaigns (core and NPD launches)
- Accountable for proactively creating and implementing processes and procedures that are necessary to build the department
- Guiding and developing the team when it comes to execution of the tasks above
Essential skills required
- Great communication skills
- Disruptive, creative and out of the box thinker
- Has a big pool of close contacts and owns relationship within UK media
- Multi-tasker (able to jump between brands and markets)
- Detail oriented but able to see bigger business picture as well
- Good negotiator who is able to get those costs down (or get more value for the price)
- Fast learner and doer
- Always stays “on top of all things”, always has a plan
- Equally good with both MS Excel and Powerpoint
- Digitally native
