THE ROLE
We’re looking for a strategic, confident and creatively curious Communications Director who lives and breathes beauty.
You’ll own your client portfolio end-to-end, leading strategy, nurturing senior client relationships and inspiring your team to deliver culturally relevant, earned-first campaigns that people actually talk about.
This role is about big-picture thinking and brilliant execution. You’ll set the strategic vision across communications, influencer, advocacy, social storytelling and earned activation and make sure it all lands with impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Strategy & Leadership
- Senior strategic lead for a portfolio of beauty clients.
- Develop annual and quarterly communications strategies aligned to commercial and brand goals.
- Build trusted, long-term client relationships.
- Oversee fully integrated campaigns across communications, influencer, social, experiential and digital teams.
Press & Influencer Expertise
- Maintain and deepen strong relationships with top-tier UK beauty editors.
- Lead press office strategy, storytelling and earned outreach.
- Guide influencer strategy across macro and micro creators, including seeding and organic activations.
- Work alongside the partnerships team for paid and founder led work.
Campaigns & Activations
- Oversee the ideation and delivery of standout press events, trips, experiential moments and mailers.
- Ensure every campaign feels culturally sharp, newsworthy and aligned to UK consumer behaviour and retail landscapes.
- Drive innovation in organic activations, using insights and industry trends.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and inspire a team of Communications Managers, Executives and Assistants.
- Support recruitment and team structure, fostering an inclusive, motivating and high-performing culture.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 8 – 10 years experience in beauty communications at a UK PR agency or in house.
- A proven track record of delivering integrated strategies and high-profile UK launches.
- Experience managing multiple clients and priorities at once.
- Strong understanding of UK retail and e-commerce in the beauty space.
- Ability to lead senior client conversations with confidence and authority.
- Experience managing, developing and motivating teams.
- A genuine passion for beauty and lifestyle brands.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and an excellent communicator
