Job Purpose

To create, develop, implement and manage exposure of the Barry M brand through traditional PR methods in print, radio & TV, alongside digital media opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

• Devise and implement PR plan and budget in line with the brands objectives and new product development.
• Manage all media relationships and communication. Including daily liaison with journalists on national, consumer, regional, trade, online and broadcast media to negotiate regular coverage and feature opportunities for Barry M (the brand), products and ambassadors.
• Undertake the coordination, planning and implementing of product launches and press events.
• Create and develop innovative ways to promote the brand and products, including creative mailers and campaigns.
• Write and distribute engaging press material, including brochures, daily look sheets, releases and quotes.
• Analyse and report editorial trends, habits and readership figures, in order to continue identifying PR opportunities for future launches.
• Ensure key press coverage is communicated internally.
• Evaluate PR achieved, compile detailed monthly reports and share results with key members of the company.
• Keep up to date with sales figures and work out any relationships between coverage achieved and highest sales.
• Work closely with the marketing team to ensure consistency of messaging and work as part of the team to constantly look for creative and innovative ways to publicise Barry M through a wide variety of activities.
• Research, and then engage with, appropriate new media partners, building effective relationships.
• Cultivating and strengthening relationships with journalists, beauty press priority.
• Monitor competitor brands on their PR activity and NPD to compare and contrast to Barry M and strive to better it.
• Ensure media mailing lists are kept update with all publication changes and press movements.
• Co-ordinating and implementing press release mailings, ensuring publication lead times are adhered to.
• Manage PR Assistant, set objectives, manage workload and encourage growth.
