The Handbook - Senior Content Creator & Social Strategist (London) job

Senior Content Creator & Social Strategist

  • Location: South West London (Fully Office-Based)
  • Salary: (Dependent on Experience)
  • Role Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Experience Required: 3+ years

About the Role

The Handbook is looking for a creative, data-driven, and highly engaging Senior Content Creator & Social Media Strategist to become the face and voice of our brand across all social channels.

This is not a traditional behind-the-scenes social media management role. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of social content - from ideation and scripting to filming, editing, and publishing - while regularly appearing on-camera.

You must possess a deep, strategic understanding of the algorithms powering TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, backed by a proven track record of scaling digital communities.

Key Responsibilities

On-Camera & Content Production

  • On-Camera Hosting: Serve as the primary on-camera personality, presenting features, hosting social videos, and conducting interviews with an authentic, confident, and charismatic presence.
  • End-to-End Creation: Concept, script, film, and edit high-quality, native short-form and long-form video content daily.
  • Platform Optimization: Tailor content formats specifically to maximize engagement across TikTok, Instagram (Reels/Stories), YouTube, and emerging channels.

Social Strategy & Audience Growth

  • Channel Scaling: Execute proven organic growth strategies to expand our follower base, boost engagement rates, and foster an active, loyal community.
  • Algorithm Mastery: Stay ahead of platform algorithm shifts, feature updates, and viral audio to ensure our content maintains high visibility and organic reach.
  • Performance Analytics: Routinely track, analyze, and report on video metrics (watch time, retention, shares) to refine our content strategy based on hard data.

Trend Forecasting & Collaboration

  • Trend Reactive: Spot internet trends, memes, and industry news early, rapidly pivoting production to capitalize on cultural moments.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual assets, tone of voice, and messaging align perfectly with our established brand guidelines.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Brainstorm and coordinate with wider teams to support brand campaigns and product launches.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of dedicated experience managing brand social channels with a documented history of driving substantial organic follower growth and viral reach.
  • On-Camera Confidence: A natural, conversational on-camera presence with excellent communication skills and the ability to immediately hook an audience.
  • Production Skills: Advanced proficiency in mobile video editing apps (CapCut, InShot) or desktop software (Premiere Pro), alongside strong mobile cinematography and lighting skills.
  • Data-Informed Mindset: Deep understanding of social analytics tools and an innate knowledge of why a piece of content performs well versus why it flops.
  • Commercial Content Creation – Ability to create commercial content according to a brief, ensuring it is polished, meets client requirements and objectives, while still feeling aligned with THB as a brand.
  • Interview & Partnership Outreach – Experience setting up and managing interviews, as well as managing influencer partnerships and working with creators.

Location & Availability

  • London-Based: This role is based out of our South West London office and out and about on shoots. Because our work requires hands-on collaboration, fast-turnaround content shoots, and street-style interviews around the city
  • Hours & Flexibility: Due to the fast-paced nature of digital media, live industry events, and trend-reactive filming, a high degree of flexibility is required. Candidates must be available to work occasional evenings or weekends as the content and event schedule demands.
