Capsule Comms is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and nurturing director to join its team. The right candidate would work closely with the agency’s MD on the development of its staff as well as recruiting and retaining new business whilst leading and supporting the growing team’s daily press office activity and being a main point of call for clients.

The Capsule Comms brand portfolio includes Batiste, MZ Skin, Amanda Harrington London, Banana Republic Fragrances, Waterpik, Pearl Drops, Viviscal, Kierin NYC Fragrances, Nair and Toppik. 

We are looking for a proven track record in strategic thinking, confidence in drafting and implementing PR proposals as well as robust writing and communication skills. A strong network across the beauty landscape inclusive of national, regional and digital press, broadcast, influencers, MUAs and hair stylists is vital.

Whilst managing key brand PR strategies, the Account Director will closely monitor all accounts in the Capsule Comms portfolio and support wherever necessary during key and busy periods to deliver on brand objectives and KPIs.

Furthermore, this applicant must be continuously thinking of ways to ‘push the envelope’ to secure editorial coverage as well as amplifying the brand in non-traditional ways whether it be backstage at Fashion Week or leveraging ambassador quotes and market statistics. 

The right candidate will be experienced and collaborative; encouraging and mentoring members of the team whilst providing counsel and reassurance to staff and clients. Previous experience in beauty and wellbeing, mainly haircare, will be needed in this role. 

What skills and qualities will I need?

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Minimum of seven years Beauty PR experience
• Established editorial and industry contacts with a desire to continuously grow this network and regularly pitch in ideas 
• Strong imagination with a desire to work creatively
• Knowledge of the beauty and hair industry, trends, popular and emerging culture
• Experience managing budgets with accuracy and an eye for detail 
• Contract negotiation with talent and industry professionals
• Confident leading meetings, calls and representing the client and Capsule Comms agency
