The Sun UK has announced the following promotions in the consumer team:

Laura Purkess has been promoted from Consumer Champion & Senior Consumer Reporter to Consumer Features Editor & Consumer Champion. Laura will continue to manage The Sun's exclusive personal finance features, investigations and real life money stories for the website and newspaper, including writing her own features, commissioning articles to a team of reporters and freelancers and editing content. She also continues to write the weekly consumer champion column in the paper.

Olivia Marshall has been promoted from Consumer Reporter to Senior Consumer Reporter, where she'll be taking on more editorial responsibilities alongside her personal finance and retail reporting.

James Flanders has been promoted from Consumer Reporter to Chief Consumer Reporter.

Ellie Smitherman has been promoted from Consumer Reporter to Senior Consumer Reporter where she'll continue writing personal finance and consumer-facing stories while also taking on news editing responsibilities.
