Creative comms agency, The Romans, has opened its fifth global office in Berlin. It follows significant European growth driven from its Amsterdam and London offices. It follows the third consecutive year of double digit growth for the business, with global headcount doubling in the past eighteen months.
The new office, based on Linienstraße in Mitte, will be spearheaded by Sophie Nicholson, who expands her role to lead both Dutch and German offices.
Nicholson, who has been building The Romans’ regional presence from Amsterdam for the past two years, brings extensive experience leading pan-European businesses and recruiting and developing best-in-class domestic talent.
The office is off to a flying start, with founding client wins for the market including Gymshark and easyJet. The local team, driven by account lead Lisa Wegner, who joined The Romans Berlin from M&C Sport and Entertainment, has already delivered its first creative campaign for easyJet.
The easyJet campaign used Valentine’s Day as a hook to riff off this year’s biggest travel trend: solo travel, with a healthy dose of self love. The campaign spanned media relations, influencer partnerships and a consumer activation - Table for One - a dining experience designed to overcome the only barrier to going it alone; that first solo dinner.
The agency will focus on delivering creative campaigns across PR, social and influencer, for domestic and international brands.
The Romans Berlin will join Mother Berlin, which operates from Mitte. While the agencies will continue to operate independently, their shared history and creative ambition paves the way for an integrated offering to service local clients.
