Adria Watson, previously Audience Editor at Boston Globe Media, has been appointed Weekend Social Editor at daily newspaper The New York Times.

Working alongside Social Visuals Editors, Los Angeles-based Adria will curate and manage the @nytimes accounts, ensuring that breaking news is distributed during a crucial window. This includes bringing her expertise to social video strategy, with a focus on growing the reach and impact of video journalism off platform. 

She will also monitor demand as well as competitors to identify opportunities, including via video, to grow and engage audiences.
