Spring & Autumn Fair launches new ‘Inside Retail’ podcast

Spring & Autumn Fair has announced the launch of its new podcast Inside Retail, bringing together retail leaders, buyers and experts to explore the issues, trends and opportunities shaping the future of retail.

The podcast will feature retailers, buyers, brands and industry experts discussing retail trends, consumer behaviour, technology, independent retail, fashion, licensing, social commerce and the future of the high street. Episodes will be hosted by members of the Spring & Autumn Fair team, including Jackson Szabo, Fay Tranter, Matthew Mein and Morgan Swinford.

The series launches with Ami Rabheru, retail strategist and founder of Retail Huddle, examining what retailers are most worried about and excited by as they look towards 2027, alongside changing consumer behaviour, the role of physical stores and technology. The episode introduces a recurring feature, Buy or Bye, in which guests give an instant verdict on a real product. Ami will assess a £300 AI-powered smart shopping trolley.

The second episode, launching on 29 October, features British fashion designer and retail entrepreneur Jeff Banks reflecting on more than 50 years in fashion. Jeff will discuss building a brand that lasts, how the industry has evolved and the balance between creativity and commercial reality. He will give his verdict on a £500 designer suit bought entirely online.

The third episode, launching on 12 November, welcomes Charlotte Broadbent, Head of International Partnerships and Marketing at Faire, to explore what millions of wholesale transactions reveal about what retailers are actually buying and which trends could grow over the next 12 months. Charlotte will also discuss the return of individuality in retail, the rise of AI and where technology can help smaller businesses compete.

Future guests include Alison Battisby, Founder of Avocado Social, discussing social media, creators, social commerce and AI; Laura Rudoe, Founder of Evolve Beauty, exploring purpose-led brands and the conscious consumer; Steve Manners of Licensing International, examining the commercial opportunity in licensing; and John Abbate of Westminster City Council, looking at the future of the high street.

Episodes will be released fortnightly across Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
