Publishing Business acquires The London Magazine

Date posted on DIARY directory: Wednesday 4th November 2026

The London Magazine announces new publisher

Publishing Business, owned by business entrepreneurs and financiers Tom and Lucy Spanner, has acquired the publishing rights to The London Magazine and is focused on growing a portfolio of quality London publications across print and digital media.

Alongside its circulation to private high-net-worth households across London, The London Magazine is also distributed to luxury five-star London hotels including The Athenaeum, The Beaumont, The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, 45 Park Lane, The May Fair, The Ritz, Claridge's, The Dorchester, Mandarin Oriental, JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, Brown's Hotel and The Lanesborough, alongside circulation to private members' clubs such as The Arts Club, Royal Automobile Club, Marsham Club and The Sloane Club. The publisher also distributes to select WHS Travel and TGJones outlets.

Publishing Business will continue to focus on quality, so any further acquisitions will target premium titles with a London audience and discerning HNWI readership. Publishing Business plans to further build the readership and market share of its existing titles by relaunching The London Magazine website and enhancing the website and social media operations for Mayfair Times.

Alongside company directors Tom and Lucy Spanner, the group's senior leadership team includes Publishing Business Managing Director Adrian Day, Selma Day, Editor of Mayfair Times, and Anne Cuthbertson, Editor of The London Magazine, who has been at the helm since 2014.

Tom Spanner and Lucy Spanner said: "Our vision is to create an unbeatable prime London publishing portfolio, consolidating some of the capital's best-known lifestyle titles under one roof and seeking further expansion where publications complement our London focus. With our strong financial backing, the group's five heritage titles will be given a new lease of life and an exciting future in luxury print, digital and VIP events. Our publishing stable of the finest luxury titles, together represent and champion London, the best city in the world."

Adrian Day and Selma Day said: "The London Magazine is an exciting addition to the Publishing Business portfolio. The group now has five premium titles publishing in the luxury sphere in prime central London. The senior team is focused on continuing to produce and further enhance well-crafted, curated magazines that engage with our HNWI audience via print, digital and social media platforms in a relevant and meaningful way in what is an incredibly fast-changing media landscape. We have long admired The London Magazine, which creates a strong addition to our coverage of prime neighbourhoods in central London. We look forward to further developing the magazine's reach and engagement, while expanding in the digital space and adding exciting events as we move forward."
