After a nine-year hiatus, M·A·C Cosmetics has announced the return of M·A·Czine, the brand’s iconic editorial platform, relaunched in a fully digital, social-first expression of fashion, beauty, culture and artistry.
M·A·C Global Brand Ambassador and pop provocateur Doja Cat appears as the first cover star of the reimagined M·A·Czine, setting the tone for a bold new chapter rooted in creative freedom and fearless expression.
Originally published in print from 2009 to 2017, M·A·Czine served as a seasonal style manifesto for M·A·C’s internal artists, creative collaborators and key partners. Distributed as meticulously produced books about make-up trends, each issue offered an inside look at upcoming runway influences, artistic direction and the brand’s latest innovations. At its core, M·A·Czine captured the industry institution’s unapologetic approach to artistry, individuality and cultural commentary.
Now reimagined for a new era, the digital revival of M·A·Czine is envisioned as a modern editorial platform designed to live across social and owned channels, capturing contemporary beauty culture in real time. Coming in hot off the cover of the first digital issue, Doja Cat sets the creative tone for M·A·Czine’s return with fearless, boundary-pushing beauty that emphasises her devotion to rekindling your love for bold red lipstick. Fans get an exclusive peek into her world of self-expression, including her take on what M·A·Cximal means to her: “It makes me think of how big it was in the 2010s to go all out with make-up. It was the alter ego we let shine back then.”
Nicola Formichetti, M·A·C Cosmetics Global Creative Director states, "Back in the day, M·A·Czine was our creative playground. It was where we experimented and brought some of our most daring ideas to life. At M·A·C, we have everything you need to play with your look and express yourself, from minimal to maximal. As the world shifts and bold, confident makeup makes its return, this feels like the perfect time to bring it back. So, welcome to M·A·Czine. Let’s embrace this new chapter and create the future of beauty together. It’s time to have fun with makeup again."
The January issue also honours M·A·Czine’s roots by celebrating make-up artistry across the wider M·A·C community. Highlights include a focus on industry legend Terry Barber’s signature social-media collages and M·A·C Pro Artist–approved red lip combos, alongside a special “From the Archives” feature spotlighting the iconic Ruby Woo.
