Melissa Denes has left her role as Executive Editor at The Times and The Sunday Times to go freelance.

Specialising in interviews, culture and long reads, she has written extensively about books, art, theatre, film, TV and photography, and is keen to report on the big issues reshaping the cultural landscape and institutions.

Melissa also writes on social affairs, including violence against women and the justice system. Away from culture, she is working on more narrative pieces, particularly stories that shine a light on violence against women, policing, the courts and online harms.
