Former Drapers duo unite to acquire The Industry London from FARBLACK

Lauretta Roberts and Antony Hawman have acquired fashion industry private members’ club and digital magazine The Industry London from FARBLACK Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Lauretta, who is director of brand & propositions at trend forecaster WGSN (a position she will retain) and Anthony, who is founder of brand partnership agency ThePartnershipAtelier, were previously colleagues of fashion industry bible Drapers. Anthony will be using his expertise in forging partnerships in the fashion and beauty sectors, via ThePartnershipAtelier, to launch additional event and sponsorship opportunities, in his role as director of The Industry. The Industry London’s founder and former managing director, Courtney Blackman, will remain on the advisory board. Both Lauretta  and Anthony established limited company Magnus Media & Events Ltd to acquire The Industry London. They were colleagues at Haymarket Business Publishing in the early 2000s before both moving to Drapers. Lauretta left Drapers in 2009 to move to sister business WGSN, while Anthony moved on to be brand partnerships director at My-wardrobe.com followed by brand director at Birchbox. This year he established his own brand partnership agency ThePartnershipAtelier. Membership to The Industry London is priced at £300/year and includes access to a digital directory, bi-annual masterclasses and quarterly Network & Expert events, which have hosted big name speakers such as David Gandy, Mary Katrantzou, Matchesfashion.com founder Tom Chapman, Asos.com founder Nick Robertson, Lulu Guinness and GQ’s Dylan Jones. The Industry London is interested in receiving press information on innovation and innovators in retail, fashion design and brands, technology, media & marketing and beauty.
