Flourish Management's tips and guidance for influencers during Covid-19
Date posted on DIARY directory: Wednesday 29th April 2020
Flourish Management has compiled influencer tips and guidance on how to navigate through the current Covid-19 climate. With online sales taking a huge hit and the retail industry, in particular, suffering the brunt, it is becoming increasingly difficult for brands and fashion influencers to navigate the uncertain road ahead. Most prominent, however, is the real sense of nervousness around brand communications in the current climate; the stakes are high and the general public is quick to identify the brands that are getting it wrong.
Aundrea Worsley, Flourish Management Co-Founder and MD comments: “Brands should continue with their marketing and communication as much as possible, but strategies should be revised based on the new reality. They should use this time to connect with customers on a deeper level and show that they care. They should ultimately be putting employees first as well as adopting a ‘purpose before profit’ mentality, making efforts to support charity and ‘give back’ to the community."
Aside from reacting appropriately and showing support for worthy causes, brands can strike a balance to allow themselves to keep highlighting their product offering in a sensitive manner. Customers want brands to acknowledge the hardship of lockdown, but equally, with screen time at an all-time high and the over-saturation of COVID-19 related news and articles, people still want some distraction and normalcy.
Flourish Management has suggested the following tips for Influencers during this time:
- Be real
- Diversify your feed
- Dial down the throwbacks
- Listen
- Fact check
- Get creative
- Show support
- Be proactive
- Do not be opportunistic
- Respect Government advice
