John Sunyer has joined British GQ as Features Director, bringing extensive experience as a writer and editor across print, digital and audio.

John joins from a period as a freelance writer and editor, with work appearing in leading global titles. He has also partnered with some of the world’s leading brands, advising on content strategy.

Previously, John was Editor at Courier Media, where he shaped stories at the intersection of modern business and culture across print, email, video and online. Before Courier Media, Sunyer was at the Financial Times, where he was Commissioning Editor and later Acting Deputy Editor of Life & Arts. He wrote, commissioned and edited major profiles and long-form features, while helping develop new editorial products.

In his new role at British GQ, John will oversee commissioning and editing ambitious storytelling across the title’s print and digital features. He will also play a key role in shaping the brand’s editorial strategy, events and contributor network.
