Authentic Brands Group has acquired denim brand Lee Jeans from Kontoor Brands for an undisclosed sum.

Global brand and entertainment platform Authentic Brands Group will convert Lee Jeans into a licensing model upon completion of the transaction. 

Jamie Salter, Founder and Executive Chairman of Authentic, said the company focuses on preserving what consumers love about brands while implementing distribution and marketing strategies for long-term growth.

The transaction requires regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of 2026.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is acting as legal advisor to Authentic Brands Group. Morgan Stanley is acting as financial advisor to Kontoor Brands, with Foley & Lardner LLP as legal advisor.
