The American Society of Magazine Editors has released the list of finalists for the 61st annual National Magazine Awards. One of the most prestigious journalism-awards programs in the USA, the National Magazine Awards are sponsored by ASME in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Originally limited to print magazines, the awards now honour magazine storytelling published in any medium, including newspapers and newsletters.

Each of the finalists will be honoured - and the winners announced - at the presentation of the National Magazine Awards at the People Inc. Event Centre at Brookfield Place in New York City on Tuesday, 19 May.
