Key Duties & Responsibilities

Social Strategy

  • Develop social media strategy and schedule with the Digital Editor, Editor in Chief and Senior Strategist across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Flipboard, taking into account the role of each channel to drive social media KPI’s (organic engagement, site traffic, newsletter acquisition, Beauty Club membership etc.)
  • Use Google Analytics and platform insight tools to analyse and define social strategy
  • Build a plan on how to deliver against social KPIs including engagement, traffic and reach
  • Work with the social platforms and provide insight on innovation within the social space to inform both content and branded native ideas and plans
  • Collaborate with other social media managers within the Condé family to share best practises and work together towards maximum brand engagement and traffic of all titles
  • Have your finger on the pulse of social innovations, looking out for the next big social platform to ensure GLAMOUR stays ahead of the game reaching our readers wherever they are

Content Production

  • Work with the web editor to ensure that content is seamless regardless of the platform 
  • Engage audiences and drive traffic from all social platforms (including but not limited to Instagram (feed and stories), Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Flipboard, Snap, YouTube etc)
  • Amplification of GLAMOUR’s brand and content to drive unique audiences to original content (video and editorial) through organic and paid social
  • Develop and negotiate a share network of social channels to distribute GLAMOUR’s content
  • Strategise and plan content for social, focusing on great visuals and storytelling in line with the GLAMOUR brand


  • Advise on and implement organic and paid social strategy on marketing campaigns
  • Work towards lowering acquisition costs on readers through social media to both editorial and commercial content

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about publishing and the social media landscape within the beauty and women’s lifestyle space (beauty, fashion and entertainment)
  • Experience of growing traffic and followers on all social media platforms
  • A nimble and creative approach with a view to increasing the commercial value as well as the UK audience traffic and demographic target
  • Positive and flexible working attitude that’s open to a “test and measure” way of approaching new social strategies; able to pivot and respond quickly to changes in social platforms in order to hit specific milestone targets
  • Equal parts analytical and creative; proactive with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Be a team player; work collaboratively with the content and commercial teams 
  • Execute fun and engaging social media promotions for both GLAMOUR and our brand partners across all channels
  • Be visual and creative brimming with great social content ideas 
  • Results driven
  • Fun, energetic and enthusiastic bursting with ideas 
  • Ideas on how to integrate editors, influencers and community posts into the mix 
  • A keen interest in influencers and talent
  • Good research skills for project planning and talent sourcing
